Southwind German Shorthaired Pointers breeding program is designed to produce sound and versatile GSP's that are loving family members with the ability to work/compete in the field, obedience, conformation, or in any activity. In limited breeding we have bred over 20 Champions, multiple Master, Senior and Junior hunters, an Amateur Field Champion as well as many other performance dogs. German Shorthaired Pointers are great family dogs that need lots of human attention as well as exercise and training. We always recommend at least a basic obedience or puppy class to help socialize your puppy. We also believe that development begins in the whelping box, therefore, our puppies are born in our house where they receive lots of stimulation and attention. Before going to their new homes they will be evaluated for show quality and hunting ability.
Our foundation bitch "Tango" has produced 11 champions, as well as dogs with hunt test titles, obedience titles, fly ball titles, and field trial pointed dogs.
All Puppies are sold with a buyer/seller contract and guaranteed against genetic health defects.
Ch/Ch Southwind's American Pie MH NRD is available for stud service to approved bitches.
We are members of the Gulf Coast German Shorthaired Pointer Club, the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of San Antonio, the National German Shorthaired Pointer Club, and quail unlimited.
Sly wins Best in Sweepstakes at the GSP Club of San Antonio Specialty
Southwind's Rock Slide from NEWPoint "Sly" has been having fun he earned his Junior Hunter title, he won Best in Sweepstakes at both the GSP Club of San Antonio and the Gulf Coast GSP Club Specialty shows, and took a 3rd place his first time at a field trial in Amatuer Walking Puppy at the San Antonio Weimaraner Club Field Trial.
My 11 yr old Grandaughter eaned her Junior Handler title for Junior Hunter using our soon to be 11yr old Song. Some of the judges comments were worked as a great team and Song was a bird finding machine. We are very proud of both of them. Song celebrated her 11th hunting season with a pheasant hunting trip to North Dakota she had a great time.
